Asperger’s Alliance provides a safe place where people on the autism spectrum and their families are welcome to be themselves, and we are widening our family to include elementary school students.
Our Young thinkers Program Provides students in Elementary and Middle School Students a place where they are allowed to be creative, explore the world around them, and most importantly, make new friends.
Through fun activities and interactive experiments, participants in young thinkers will learn important skills in three areas:
Communication (verbal and non-verbal)
Positive coping strategies to reduce restrictive or repetitive interests
Social development (improving social and emotional reciprocity)
If you are worried about leaving your child alone for even a moment, we propose this solution: All young thinkers will be introduced to a member of college-age emerging adult group, who will serve as friend and partner throughout your child’s journey. Members of our peer council, a small collective of our emerging adults who have demonstrated leadership skills, will also be actively working with our Young Thinkers.
